Who is Outdoor Andrew?
Hi, I’m Andrew! Thanks for checking out my site!
As you can guess from the name and the words in the logo, I’m a big fan of the outdoors. You must be too, or else you wouldn’t be here. But if you’re checking out the About page, you’re probably wondering who I am.
Honestly, I’m just a regular guy like everyone else. I know, I know. That’s a boring answer. So here’s a little bit about me.
A few years back, before I ever even thought about getting into writing, I graduated college with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and found an awesome job halfway across the country. Soon after I accepted it and signed a 5-year contract, I headed south, and my perspective on life started to change.
From the time I was born through graduating college at age 25, I lived in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. But now, I was in a whole new place, surrounded by all new people from different walks of life.
The best part? The weather was a heck of a lot better here and I could spend more time outdoors!
It wasn’t long before I realized there were way more places to see and many more things to do. I knew I wanted to not only see the world, but I wanted to experience it. So I started doing more and more outdoor activities, and I couldn’t get enough.
Camping, hiking, skiing, rafting, snorkeling, and just traveling as much as possible. Anything I could do to go somewhere I have never been, see something new, spend time in nature, or experience a new thrill, I was in.
I even ended up getting a ride in a fighter jet one day, and I couldn’t shake that feeling of adrenaline. To scratch that itch, I started looking into even more exciting things I could do outdoors. Skydiving, hang gliding, scuba diving, I wanted to do it all.
Eventually, I realized just how much spending time outdoors meant to me, and I knew I wanted to share my experiences with others one day. I just didn’t know how to do it at first.
So I started looking into writing.
I began writing content back in early 2021 as a bit of a side hustle outside of my full-time engineering job. At first, I took on any client I could find for any amount of money, just to build a portfolio. Early on, I thought it would be cool to eventually make $500/month for some extra cash. But my main goal was to learn everything I could about the industry.
After a couple of years writing for others and building a solid client list, I decided to put everything I’ve learned to the test and go out on my own. It was finally time to share my love of the outdoors with others.
Thus, Outdoor Andrew was born.
It’s time to Live Life Outside the Office.
Thanks again for stopping by. Let’s enjoy this amazing world together.
